Avatan’s 2012 season
offers something for everyone...
Activities gear up for the
summer season beginning with Memorial Day
weekend. Attend our special flag ceremony
honoring our
veterans on Memorial Day.
Hungry? Our Avatan grill serves
up different kinds of breakfast, and lunch all season long.
On the Fourth of July we will
celebrate our own “patriotic nude parade”
(only at Avatan!), Pool and
sand volleyball, our
annual Pig Roast dinner
(with several turkeys
barbecued over Webbers throughout the camp), a
fireworks display at
dusk and dancing ‘til midnight. Whew!
Every
weekend during the summer there are also activities like poolside
Bingo, pool or sand
volleyball games, petanque, pancake breakfasts,
burger barbecues, dances, movie nights,
bonfires and on and on.
How many corn-on-the-cobs can you eat at our Corn Feed and Potluck
dinner in early August?
Don’t worry about eating too many ‘cause
a dance with the live band usually follows the dinner.
There’ll be lots of fun on Labor Day weekend as the The Annual
Minnesota Nude Sand
Volleyball Tournament. Cheer on Avatan’s team as
it participates in this contest.
We’ll
also have a chili cook-off and a great dance to celebrate the
close of our summer season
and the beginning of our fall camping
season.
The swimming pool and hot tub will still be open (perhaps
through mid September,
weather permitting) and fall is a glorious
time for camping at Avatan – join us around a
campfire and make those delicious s’mores, one last time!
Because Avatan is a member cooperative, activities are subject to
change – our
members can come up with some pretty creative ideas!
